3. Traditional information on Pranayama. (Definition and effects of practice)

4. Purposes of various types of Pranayama. (Understand why there are different types of practices)

5. Physiology of various stages of pranayama (Puraka, Kumbhaka and rechaka)

6. Technique, Benefits and Precautions of 8 Types of Pranayama.

7. Practice of Pranayama (Anuloma Viloma, Ujjai, Shitali, Shitkari, Suryabhedan, Chandrabhedan, Bhastrika and Bhramari)

8. What is Kapalbhati (Traditional information on Kapalbhati and its effect)

9. Proper techniques to practice Kapalbhati.

10. Physiology of Kapalbhati. Benefits and Precaution.

I would to share my success story on removing nasal spray that use to treat my blocked nose due to allergic to dust mites. I have been using the nasal spray – Nasonex for past 6 years. This medicine is a steroid used to treat nasal symptoms. As I am having osteopenia condition, the steroid contained medicine will make my condition worse. I have tried to reduce the dosage as suggested by Doctor but all the attempts were unsuccessful. Once I reduced the dosage, the symptoms got worse. Even I was on the medication, my nose still get blocked sometimes. The worst situation was I dozed off while talking to colleague. That really embarrassed me. Can you imagine my trouble for past 6 years? So I decided to look for other treatment option – acupuncture. The Chinese Physician diagnosed that my allergic was due to low immune system, as he knew that I practice Yoga, he asked whether I practice Pranayama. I was stunned. In fact I have learned pranayama at that time but I focused more on Asana. The Chinese Physician said that Pranayama would increase the immune system.
In Mar-16, I attended Dr Venky’s YTTC. After the topic on Pranayama, I have in-depth understanding on the characteristic and mechanism of Pranayama. I experienced that with the proper understanding, you can reap the benefits fully. With the target in mind, I started to practice pranayama every morning and night from Apr-16. 6 months into the practice, I managed to reduce the nasal spray dosage to half. That promising outcome boosted my confident in pranayama. In the subsequent months, I gradually reduced the dosage to once a week. And finally, in Dec-16, I tried to remove it completely. Thanks to Pranayama, I have live without nasal spray for the past 4 months. It was a great achievement in my life.
